What kinds of wood do you make these out of? Is it different type inlaid together or do you get the separate colors by staining them?

I don't really know what kind of wood it's. It's a white wood, easy to work with. And easy to stain. I make some layers of stain to imitate a marquetry effect. I use walnut stain. It's natural, cheap, easy to wash and to use to have different colors.
